In a surprise announcement from Nintendo, thanks to the latest software update, the Switch now offers Bluetooth audio support for users. The ability to use Bluetooth headphones on the portable gaming device has been a curiously missing feature since the console launched back in 2017, so while it’s about time, it’s not entirely surprising that it comes with some limitations.
According to Nintendo’s support article, if you use Bluetooth audio, you’ll be limited to using only two wireless controllers. Which doesn’t seem like a huge deal. Unsurprisingly, the system won’t be supporting Bluetooth microphones, which is nothing entirely new considering you only have voice chat when using the app on your phone.
The latest #NintendoSwitch update is now available, including the ability to pair Bluetooth devices for audio output.
