The first official trailer for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, starring Daniel Radcliffe has been released.
That alone is a weird enough sentence if you add on the fact that this is an original film from Roku, and frankly, I don’t know what the hell is going on anymore.
You can check out the trailer above and judge for yourself. If you have any strong feelings, good or bad, feel free to share, because as I said; I’m at a loss.
The biopic holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.
Oh, and on top of Daniel Radcliffe portraying Weird Al, we also have Rainn Wilson as Dr. Demento and Rachel Wood as Madonna. So there’s that too.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is directed and executive produced by Eric Appel from a screenplay he co-wrote with Yankovic. It is produced by Funny Or Die and Tango. Producers are Yankovic, Mike Farah, Joe Farrell, and Whitney Hodack for Funny Or Die along with Tim Headington, Lia Buman, and Max Silva for Tango. Funny Or Die’s Henry Muñoz III and Tango’s Neil Shah are also set as executive producers.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story with Daniel Radcliffe is coming this fall to The Roku Channel
