So I admit I’ve debated on where to highlight news related to the new Masters of the Universe cartoon coming to Netflix. To be fair, it fits over on Geekasms rather well, but also the whole nostalgia aspects of it fit here at Fatherhood: Reloaded too. And I admit, the site is becoming a little more than just a parenting/fatherhood blog, but I can’t help it! Plus, I’ve had a resurgence of interest in He-Man with my son on the way and the release of the Masters of the Universe Origins figures. So, with that said, I’m posting this Masters of the Universe: Revelation news here. (I’m a big kid, I don’t apologize)
So, the news isn’t about a trailer for the new Netflix show coming this year, but of the composer for the show. Kevin Smith took to Twitter to announce that the amazing Bear McCreary is on board as the show’s composer with a preview of his score for the “Transformation” scene.
In the video below, Smith walks us through the scene (which we don’t get the see) but along with McCreary’s score, we get to hear voice actor Chris Wood give his “by the power of Grayskull…” as Prince Adam, and “I have the power!” as He-Man. Plus Smith teases us with He-Man pointing the sword at Cringer, turning him into Battle Cat!
On top of all that wonderful teasi-ness, we get to see Smith’s reaction to it all, which just increases the anticipation ten-fold.
MUSIC MASTER MAKES MASTERS MUSIC! The great @bearmccreary is scoring our @MastersOfficial series for @Mattel and @netflix! I can’t show you what it looks like but I can let you hear what it SOUNDS like: I present Bear’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation “Transformation” cue! https://t.co/SWV7uwMim2
