We are officially on the cusp of the unveiling of the reimagining of the 1990 holiday classic Home Alone, with Home Sweet Home Alone.

Directed by Dan Mazer, the film tells the all too familiar story of a family that leaves a child behind when they take off on an elaborate holiday trip. Also, for whatever reason, in these films, the child that is left behind is always a son.

While this isn’t your Dad’s Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House, this new Home Alone has a callback to the original, with a police officer having the last name McCallister. No word on if this is just a wink to long-time fans or if there’s more to see with the McCallister connection.

Home Sweet Home Alone stars Archie Yates from Jojo Rabbit, as Max Mercer along with a cast that includes Ellie Kemper as Pam, Rob Delaney as Jeff, Timothy Simons as Hunter, Ally Maki as Mei, Pete Holmes as Blake, Kenan Thompson as Gavin, Aisling Bea as Carol, and Chris Parnell as Uncle Stu.

Home Sweet Home Alone will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Friday, November 12, on the company’s designated Disney+ Day
